A Little Like Gary Cooper

This was supposed to be Gary Cooper, but doesn't quite look like him. I need to practice doing portraits with marker because I still haven't mastered it. Even so, I hope you enjoy. And Happy New Year!

The Fog Effect

This is both layers, one on top of the other.

Just Dance!

I don't even dance, I just drew this one time and thought that to be a good caption.

Tintin

This is an old cartoon character from the 1940's through 1960's. I used to read a lot of the comic books about him.

Mitten

Ok, so I know it's not a drawing, but it's pretty sweet. This is the reason I haven't been drawing much lately I've been busy making these.

Scenery In Pen

Pen drawing on tracing paper. Nothing too complicated here.

Silhouetted Trees

Pen drawing. I like the contrast in it, but to be honest, the background is rather lacking.

Audrey Hepburn

Drawn on newspapers, done in ink and a little paint.

Close-up.

Portrait of Myrna Loy

Pencil drawing of Myrna Loy. She was an actress that I particularly like.

Portrait of Shirley Temple

Today I went online and found some random pictures and I decided to draw Shirley Temple. I think she turned out pretty well. I don't like her as an actress as well as I did when I was a kid, but she's still cute.

Rock Climber

This is from the picture on the front of my copy of "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" by Jules Verne.

Contrast

This one is just as old as the one I posted yesterday. You can definitely see how my work has changed in the last three years. Of course using a white pencil on black paper is more difficult because I don't usually do it.

Black and Blue

Here's an old drawing for you. Looks like it was done in January, 2008. Yeah, it's really old.

French Canadian Scene

Yet another pencil drawing based on a photograph from the encyclopedia.

Random Girl

Really I should crop it, but I'm too lazy for that. And the white balance is really bad. I should take these in the daylight instead of indoor light. This, like yesterday's post, was drawn from an encyclopedia photo. I like encyclopedias.

Foggy Walk

Pencil drawing. I copied a photo from an encyclopedia and blew it up.

Mountain Scene

This, like the last picture, is in bad lighting. It's a pencil drawing of Mount Orizaba, which I think is in Mexico.

Deer in the Woods

Sorry for the bad lighting. Pencil drawing of a Whitetail Deer.

Oddly colored horse

This is my ungraded school assignment. First time really using paint in years and years. So I hope I get a good grade.

Cathedral of Worms in Germany

This is the Cathedral of Worms in Germany. I copied a photograph from an encyclopedia-type of book I have.

This is a close up so you can see some of the detail.

And another. I hope you like it.

I got an A on my assignment!

This is what I turned in for the cartooning assignment.
The page on the left is an overlay with teacher's notes and my grade. Click on the picture to make it larger.

Honest Abe

The index cards can be scrambled up however one likes.
Abe Lincoln in pen and ink on index cards on the left, and again in pencil on the right.

Mustang

This is the Mustang I drew with pencil, graphite sticks and a felt tipped pen on index cards. As demonstrated above, it's not even glued together yet. But I was inspired to do something of this sort and I think it turned out really well. And though you can't tell in this picture, there are a few mistakes that I would fix if I was to do it again.

Zinnia

Ok, so it's not a drawing. But I love zinnias and had fun taking photos of it. :)

Rainy Day

Drawings for preparation for my school assignment. I'm supposed to create a cartoon character and this one will be a glamorous celebrity type. I like the classiness of the old silver screen actresses, so that's what the cartoon will be based on. Sorry for the blurriness.
Marker and Pen.

Had to turn the camera upside down for this one. the reflection of the neighbor's house on a rain-splattered car.
I was trying to get a snapshot of the rain actually dropping. I failed, but this still looks pretty good.
These are the crying sunflowers. If you want to call them that. Actually they're happy because we've been experiencing some drought in my neck of the woods.
The raindrops on the sunflower.

I hope you like these pictures. And actually God gave us rain cause I asked him for it.
